ReportersLiveRecovering Hospitality Sector Gets Boost from New Talent Measurement Tools

PreVisor assessment suite helps grow sales, reduce turnover and increase guest satisfaction.
Now that travel, tourism, and dining-out are on the rise, quality hires are a real necessity. In a competitive market, providing the personal service that makes a guest want to return means finding the right people who possess the skills to do the job.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 27, 2010

The hospitality sector is making a strong economic recovery, according to a Q3 Manpower Employment Outlook Survey for the United States, which reported hospitality hiring is expected to increase by over 20%. With unemployment hovering near 10%, organizations are seeking talent measurement tools to help them deal with enormous prospective candidate pools. Today PreVisor, the global leader in employment assessments and talent measurement solutions that connect employment decisions to business results, announced a new Hospitality Suite comprised of twenty-one pre-packaged job solutions covering positions from entry to managerial level, including several available in Spanish-language versions.

"Even before the economic downturn the hospitality industry faced many challenges, including the need to control labor costs," stated Caroline Paxman, Chief Customer Officer of PreVisor. “Now that travel, tourism, and dining-out are on the rise, quality hires are a real necessity. In a competitive market, providing the personal service that makes a guest want to return means finding the right people who possess the skills to do the job, the ability to perform and who fit in with the rest of your organization. PreVisor’s Hospitality Suite is designed to predict which candidates exhibit traits that lead to overall growth and success.”

Business outcomes measuring the impact of online assessments for hospitality hiring showed that Service Associates who scored higher on the PreVisor solution were absent less than those who scored lower. Additionally, Hospitality Managers who scored higher achieved better property level revenue in their first seven months of employment.*

PreVisor provides talent measurement tools to many of the largest providers in the hospitality industry (e.g., Starwood Hotels & Resorts), helping them achieve bottom-line results. They also work with smaller chains and boutique properties, like Caenen Castle in Shawnee, Kansas. Owner and Chef Renee Kelly stated, “We needed to hire the correct person for a tough position. You would think with unemployment so high there would be qualified people willing to work. That is not the case. We were searching for someone with an honest work ethic and management potential, so we turned to PreVisor assessments. It worked very well, and we will use the testing again.”
