2011 to date has been our busiest since opening the doors eight years ago - and we are really GLAD about that! This is not a complaint - it's a reason to celebrate, and invigorate.
A great deal of our time is spent preparing: Thinking. Listening. Reading. Researching. Analyzing. Then there is the execution: Organizing. Designing. Writing. Measuring. Input needs to occur before output - even for individuals with experience. Fortunately, we are fed by a network of like-minded professionals, friends, colleagues, Twitter-mates, and more.
All of the raw materials come together to help shape us - and what we deliver. Not unlike any highly crafted object - like a John Lobb bespoke shoe.
I haven't written a new blog post in quite a while. And I miss that. I write every day. Just not here. I write on Twitter. Facebook. Email - by the 100's. Also articles, press releases, brochures, advertisements, presentation scripts - it's a long list. But sometimes it wears me out and I neglect my own blog - preferring to stay barefoot - rather than expend the effort.
My friend Molly Cantrell-Kraig, @mckra1g, reminded me how much I enjoy writing for the sake of communicating something I'm passionate about - not just for client deliverables. She asked me to contribute to her wonderful non-profit, Women with Drive, @WWdr1ve - and I was so honored and energized by the request that it spurred me to write several pieces all at once.
Thanks Molly. While 'barefootin' might be in my nature as a California gal - it's also pretty cool to be well-clad in the hottest footwear to be found.
Putting on my Pradas.

I procrastinate. Not on client work - but on our own company projects and updates. We are so busy being busy that time slides by rapidly and we don't employ those best practices which we strongly advise others to follow.
